Here are some things you need to know before you come to the Lemoore Sports Complex:

Address: 500 N. 19th Ave, Lemoore, CA 93230

Ice chests are permitted

There are no pets allowed at the sports complex.  I am giving you this info at the top of this email because every year some unsuspecting parent brings their dog.  And every year I have to tell them that dogs aren't allowed.  And every year they get mad at me (even though I warn coaches).  So I am telling you now, if a parent brings their dog, I will throw you under the bus and tell them how sorry I am that YOU didn't tell them they couldn't bring their dog even though I went way out of my way to emphasize that point.

There is a $2 per day gate fee for adults.  There is no charge for children.  Just like with the no dogs, you need to let your parents know in advance about the gate fee so they are not caught off guard.  3 coaches per team will not be charged the gate fee.  If you have more than 3 on your coaching staff, the fourth person will be required to pay.  Don't hassle the volunteers at the gate if you are the fourth coach and are asked to pay $2.

There isn't much shade at the complex.  Dugouts are covered, but your parents should bring pop-ups.

The weather is predicted to hit 90.  Since it's been so cool this year, it going to feel hot!!!  Be sure your players are drinking plenty of water.  If your players are thirsty, they aren't drinking enough.  Instruct your parents to have them drink extra water before, during and after games.

Pay attention to your catchers.  With all the gear they wear and all the work the do, they are at a higher risk of dehydration and over heating.  You should bring towels soaked in cool water to keep around their necks when they're in the dugout.  Are you familiar with the designated runner rule?  You can put a runner in for your catcher for free.  Talk to the umpire about this if you're not sure how it works.

I will be sending the rules in a separate email.

10-U and 12-U: Games in italic do not count toward seeding.
8-U:  Each team will receive trophies.  There are no place team awards.  In fact, you do not have to turn your scores in.  I don't keep track of wins and loses... (I know you guys do, I don't because everyone gets the same thing.)

I do not provide first aid supplies.  You have your own first aid kits and a team mom to take care of that stuff, right? You can get ice from the snack bar for injuries but you need something to put the ice in.

If you forget something like a score book, rule book, line up card or pencil; I have extra.

As per Central Cal ASA requirements:  ALL COACHES MUST WEAR THEIR COACH ID CARD.   Don't even think about stepping on the field without one.  There will be no exceptions.  Your coach ID card is to be visible when you are in the dugout or on the field.   If someone on your staff does not have their card, let me know NOW so we can get it squared away.  I will bring extra lanyards.

If a coach is ejected from a game that coach will not be allowed to coach in the following game as well.  It is your job to control your fans.  Out of control fans can result in the offending team's coach being ejected.  If the umpire gives you a warning about your fans, you should call a time out and address your fans.  Be aware, I will notify your league of any coach or parent ejections or if someone exhibits exceptionally rotten behavior.

It is the responsibility of the home team to turn in the game score.  You will be given "Game Summary" sheets in your check in packet. I expect you to turn in the game sheet as required, even when you lose.....

Attached is the schedule.  I am checking with the UIC to see if we can start Friday night games at 6:30 with a 1:20 no new inning.  (There are no lights at the complex.)  I think a 10 minute shorter game is a good trade off for starting a half hour later on a Friday.  Hopefully that will get approved.  I think your parents will appreciate the extra time to get to Lemoore.  All other game will have 1:30 time limit.  The time limit applies to championship games as well.  Obviously, I will confirm with the teams playing Friday on the start time as soon as I know for sure.

That was a lot of info to lay on you... Please email if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Leah
